About Tori McBrien

Tori McBrien's journey from the world of preppy-chic fashion to the realm of interior design was a seamless evolution in her career. With seven years of experience on both the business and design sides at the renowned label Vineyard Vines, Tori's eye for aesthetics and her passion for crafting beautiful products found a new canvas in the world of interiors. During her time at Vineyard Vines, Tori's role took her around the globe, sourcing materials and inspiration for the accessories she designed. Her creative drive, however, extended beyond handbags and jewelry; Tori soon found herself enhancing the look and feel of her own home and became a trusted resource for friends and family seeking to rejuvenate their living spaces. This natural inclination and her growing expertise led to the birth of McBrien Interiors.

With over a decade of experience in the interior design industry, Tori's journey took an interesting turn during the pandemic. She delved into the wisdom of East Asian philosophies and discovered the ancient art of Feng Shui. She also began studying environmental psychology and started incorporating biophilic design. Her curiosity into the how's and why's of design has fine-tuned her philosophy:
"Our homes should not only be functional and aesthetically pleasing but also bring joy, be designed with intention, feel harmonious throughout and with nature, and have good energy flow."
By blending modern design principles with sustainable practices and the intuition of ancient Feng Shui methods, Tori curates personalized spaces that deeply resonate with her clients. Her background in business and product development from her Vineyard Vines years equips her with the skills to work efficiently within specified budgets and timelines. Additionally, Tori's experience as a project manager for a local contractor has provided valuable insights into the intricacies of home construction. Tori's commitment to environmentally friendly design is evident through her certification as a Green Accredited Professional by the Sustainable Furnishings Council. She is also a certified Feng Shui practitioner, offering clients the opportunity to design spaces that are both environmentally sustainable and energetically harmonious.

Recent projects in her portfolio showcase her versatility, from overseeing the full design, renovation, project management, and installation of family home in Greenwich, CT to renovating multiple bathrooms throughout Fairfield County. Upcoming projects include two new kitchen renovations: one locally and the other, outside of Philadelphia.

She holds a Bachelor's degree from Gettysburg College and earned her Masters of Art in Interior Design from Fairfield University in May 2022. In March 2021, she achieved her BTB Feng Shui certification from the Mindful Design Feng Shui School, and in April 2023, she passed the NCIDQ exam. Beyond her design work, Tori actively contributes to her industry and community. She currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Home Builders and Remodelers Association of Fairfield County (HBRA) and the International Feng Shui Guild (IFSG).

Tori calls Fairfield, CT, home, where she resides with her husband, two young children, and two incredibly furry cats.
